After the Email Marketing 101, I figured its important to cover Social Media marketing given its importance in the current digital ecosystem. We’ve all seen promoted posts from brands on social media platforms. The brands are paying for each and every person that views that post. I’m sure you would have wanted to promote your brand on social media as well or probably already have. Since every view is a cost to the business, it becomes extremely important to make the view effective.
While most people would focus on creating a good image on the post so its eye catching we forget some of the basic things that need to be considered before creating a paid social media campaign. Lets look at the most important factors while creating a paid campaign –
Target Audience – Have you checked if your target audience is active on your selected social network?
Ad copy – Have you checked if the text (ad copy) and the image you use on the post are in line with the goal you are trying to achieve from the campaign?
ROI – Have you checked how to measure your ad’s Return on Investment (ROI) or the effectiveness of the campaign?
Only creating a good looking post is not enough. If you don’t set a business goal for your ad, research your target audience’s social media habits i.e. what platform do they visit most, at what times and how frequently etc, or don’t know how to measure the ROI of the money spent on the campaign then you are going to end up spending your marketing budget with little or no results.
Lets look how at how to do paid campaigns in my next post.
